Hearts and Truffles

 Fundraiser:

As Porsche Club members we strive to be responsible drivers and responsible citizens. Every year we identify a North Carolina non-profit as the beneficiary of our fundraiser. In 2025 we raised $1,700 for the MANNA Food Bank, located in Asheville. This year the Triangle Area is raising funds for the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford, NC. Their website is: https://mhc-oxford.org/

Hearts and Truffles

The weather forecast called for rain but good fortune prevailed. A cold but sunny and dry day welcomed 14 cars to the Couch Oil Co. parking lot. Couch Oil has graciously allowed us to use their parking lot during their closing hours for our driver’s meetings. Thank you Couch Oil.

Many thanks to our volunteers: Vivienne Wraith and Adam Morrison Group 1 lead with David Schmid and Meg Thompson as sweeps. Vic and TJ Group 2 lead with Patrick Herron and Gretchen Quin as sweeps. Radios kept us in constant communication and we lost no one along the way.

The meandering route took us on bucolic NC country roads with a final destination at Tunnel Creek Vineyards, north of Roxboro. There Sharon Holler, owner, treated us to a tasting of three wines paired with homemade chocolate truffles. The first wine was a sparkling rose paired with a strawberry truffle!

Tech Session at Elfer in Morrisville, NC.

Eric and Cari Ann Watson, owners of Elfer, along with their staff held an informative tech session featuring a beautiful 1987 Porsche 959. Along with this beautiful car the staff spoke about their experience and services. A delicious buffet concluded our successful visit.
